Faith in Action

Equipping Students to Impact their World

Cultivating Servants for Christ

At CVCA, learning about God’s Word and deepening our faith includes living it out. For nearly 20 years, the Student Ministries Office (SMO) has been the spiritual heartbeat of our campus. Our goal is simple but profound: that students would love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and then be moved to love others.

A Ministry of Availability

One of our most unique features is our staff’s "ministry of availability." Our SMO team maintains intentional room in their schedules to meet one-on-one with students. Whether a student needs Biblical advice, a place to pray, or just someone to listen to a situation (big or small), our doors are always open.

Worshipful Community: Chapel

Every Thursday, our entire campus family pauses for worship and to dive into God’s Word. Our Chapel services follow the heart of King David in Psalm 34:3: “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

The Experience

Students, faculty, and staff gather for musical praise, prayer, and a deep study of God’s Word.

The Goal

To set our hearts and minds on "things above" (Colossians 3:2) amidst the busyness of the school week.

THRIVE Days

Once a month, we hit “pause” on academics for THRIVE. Students choose from various faculty-led activities – ranging from quiet reflection to high-energy sports – allowing them to connect with teachers and peers over shared interests.

Service & Missions: Cultivating a Servant’s Heart

At CVCA, we believe that following Jesus means moving toward the needs of others. Our service and missions programs are designed to foster a servant’s heart in every student, helping them recognize that their talents and time are God-given gifts meant to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of a lost and dying world. From local volunteerism to global outreach, we provide the platform for students to put their faith into practice.

Service is a core part of the CVCA experience. All students (grades 6 to 12) are expected to complete 16 hours of service per school year. Students are encouraged to find opportunities that meet both physical and spiritual needs within their churches, local community organizations, or right here on campus.

Our students serve as Sunday School helpers, hospital volunteers, trail managers for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, kids’ club assistants at Urban Vision, and more.

Sophomore Trip (Nashville in 2026): Rising juniors travel within the US for a week of meaningful service. Students serve the communities by working with seniors in adult day programs, assisting at children’s ministry camps, supporting summer literacy programs, and more – all while experiencing the city’s culture.

Senior Trip (Dominican Republic): This capstone experience through MGM (Meeting God in Missions) allows rising seniors to serve in local villages through medical clinics, construction projects, and children’s ministry. It is a powerful week of “silent solitude” with the Lord and selfless service to the Dominican people.

Voices From Our Community

Don’t just take our word for it. Hear how our small school system shapes students’ hearts, minds, and faith.

“I am thankful to be at CVCA because I am surrounded by people who not only aid me academically, but guide me in my walk in Christ. I feel safe in this environment, and am thankful that I get to go to a place that encourages and loves me.”

“As the youngest of a large family, I basically grew up at CVCA. I went to basketball and soccer games - cheering with the big girls. When I finished my teaching degree, I immediately thought of the Academy. Teaching here is like coming home.”

Impact Your World

At CVCA, faith is active. Whether it’s serving locally on a Saturday or traveling across the globe on a mission trip, we provide opportunities for students to put their faith into practice. We invite you to join a community that is moving beyond the classroom to impact the world for Christ.
