“As the youngest of a large family, I basically grew up at CVCA. I went to basketball and soccer games - cheering with the big girls. When I finished my teaching degree, I immediately thought of the Academy. Teaching here is like coming home.”

Frequently Asked Questions

We know that deciding where to spend the high school years is a critical choice for your family. To help you navigate the transition to CVCA with confidence, we’ve answered the most common questions about daily schedules, spiritual life, and academic support.

Are there mission trip opportunities for high schoolers?

Yes! Our Student Ministries team organizes both local and international mission trips, allowing students to put their faith into action and gain a global perspective.

Is there support available for my student if he or she is struggling academically?

Through our OASIS program, we provide integrated academic support. This includes assistance with executive functioning skills, supervised study halls, and coordination with teachers to ensure students remain successful while navigating a rigorous schedule.

How can students get involved outside of the classroom?

With a wide variety of co-curricular activities, there is a place for every student and every talent. From the Talking Royals Speech and Debate team and Diakonos service club to competitive athletics and student-led worship in Chapel, students are encouraged to explore their interests and lead with a servant's heart.

What are the Schools of Distinction?

CVCA's Schools of Distinction program allows high school students to focus on an area of interest, such as Business, Engineering, Ministry, or Medicine. This program provides specialized coursework, mentorship, and real-world experiences, helping students discern their callings before they reach college.

How does CVCA prepare students for college admissions?

As a college-preparatory high school, 100% of our graduates are typically accepted into a college or university. Our specialized counselors begin working with students early in their high school career to navigate “best-fit” selection, college credit opportunities, and scholarship applications. To ensure our families find the best value in higher education, CVCA hosts regular advising meetings and maintains exclusive partnerships with several Christian universities that offer our graduates guaranteed admission and scholarships.

What are the graduation requirements at CVCA?

To earn a CVCA diploma, students must complete a minimum of 24 credits. This includes four years of Bible, English, and Math, and specific credits in Science, Social Studies, World Languages, and the Arts. Students are also required to complete a Jterm credit for each year of enrollment.
